Not everyone with an infectious disease needs to see an Infectious Disease Specialist. However, your physician may refer you to one of our offices to either help diagnose, treat or even prevent specific infectious diseases. We often handle cases that are difficult to treat or don't respond to standard therapies, such as HIV/AIDS, osteomyelitis and multidrug-resistant infections. We will work with your referring physician until a diagnosis is found and treatment is complete. This treatment may include intravenous (IV) antibiotics. WIDC has an antibiotic infusion center on-site at their Lakewood and Broomfield clinics to provide out-patient IV services to patients that may not require hospitalization. 
 
Please note, WIDC does require a referral for all patients.

Both of our infusion centers are open Monday through Friday with our Lakewood office providing continued service on the weekends.  During the course of treatment, our infusion patients remain under the direct supervision of our nursing staff. Our nurses and physicians work closely together to coordinate patient care and maintain communication during the duration of therapy.

An appointment in our travel clinic with one of our physicians will include itinerary specific advice, education, and vaccination recommendations tailored to the diseases common to your destination. We recommend calling to schedule your appointment at least 6 weeks prior to travel to ensure enough time for you to obtain all vaccinations and prescriptions. Most recommended vaccines are available the same day as your scheduled appointment.
