Dr. Katherine Johnson
Katherine Johnson, D.O., MSc is a board-certified infectious disease specialist with a diverse background in clinical research, academic medicine, and advanced wound care. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dr. Johnson completed her undergraduate studies at DePauw University before beginning her career in clinical research at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, where she contributed to studies on emerging therapies for Hepatitis C.
Dr. Johnson relocated to Colorado in 2014 to join WIDC and continued to expand her research portfolio as a director of clinical research at Crestone, a biotechnology company in Boulder, until 2022. She currently serves as a principal investigator at Paradigm Clinical Research, focusing on vaccine development and wound-care–related clinical studies.
Her clinical interests include prosthetic joint infections, infections in immunocompromised hosts, and complex wound management. Since 2016, Dr. Johnson has also served as a panel physician at the St. Anthony Hospital Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Johnson enjoys skiing, traveling, and hiking with her husband and their two children.
