Dr. Marinka Kartalija
Dr. Kartalija is from Zagreb Croatia, where she grew up and attended medical school. After medical school, she moved to San Francisco to pursue research in the field of infectious disease is at UCSF.
She completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah and then moved to Anchorage Alaska, where she worked with Alaska Native Medical Center for seven years practicing internal medicine.
She then completed a three-year infectious disease fellowship at the University of Colorado in Denver and joined WIDC after completing fellowship in 2009. Dr. Kartalija has expertise in pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacterial infection along with the breadth of infectious diseases medicine.
Her hobbies include traveling, Nordic skiing, and foreign languages. She lives in Boulder with her family, which includes two Australian Shepards.
