Mary Ann DeGroote, MD was born on an Air Force Base in Germany and raised in Iowa. She has conducted research in infectious diseases and teaches at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Fort Collins. She is also a medical affairs consultant. She enjoys caring for patients with all types of infections and has a special interest in emerging diagnostics and therapeutics for bacterial pathogens. She has been with WIDC since 2011.

Outside of medicine, Dr. De Groote is married and enjoys hiking, traveling, diving, and spending time with their cherished rescue dogs.
